New Jersey Rugby LLC is committed to promoting the sport of rugby in NJ. Our goal is to grow rugby programs throughout the state by running teams, sports camps and clinics which teach the fundamentals, safety and enjoyment of the game. We hope to one day see rugby become as popular in the US as it is overseas.
Our programs are run by Rich Beck, a rugby veteran experienced at both the college and men’s level and a USA Rugby certified coach and referee. Rich has successfully developed and led high school, youth and flag rugby programs in the Central NJ area and is dedicated to getting youth involved in this lifetime sport. In addition to his full time job as a 5th and 6th grade teacher, Rich founded and coached the Bridgewater High School team for six years, and started and continues to run flag rugby programs in both Franklin and Bridgewater. A long time player with the Princeton Athletic Club, he has previously coached the men's rugby team and worked as an Assistant Coach with the Rutgers Rugby Club. Rich is certified by USA Rugby as a Level 300 coach.
Volunteer coaches are also experienced players, coaches, parents and rugby enthusiasts dedicated to growing the sport. Many of our coaches have coached at the men's, women's and/or college levels and continue to be involved in adult teams. We welcome parents who are new to the sport to contact us if they are interested in helping out on the field or learning more about the sport.
